We were nearby and found this restaurant on Yelp. Wasn't sure if it'll be any good but surprisingly, it was very good. We'll definitely come back. Great prices. Friendly service too. :)

We have eaten at the restaurant once and ordered delivery on numerous occasions. We are never disappointed by the quality of the food or the variety of things to try on the menu. The sushi is always delicious--some of our favorites are the Rainbow Roll and the Dragon Roll. The udon and other noodle bowls are great if you're in that kind of mood. Also, the sashimi and chirashi are always fresh and delicious. The only problem we've had is that sometimes when we order for delivery, the hot food makes the sushi warm. We have also waited as long as an hour for delivery, but the order-taker warned us ahead of time; they're really good, so they're really busy. Apart from the great food, the owners and employees are super nice. Highly recommended.

This place deserves more than 3 stars, they're food is great! My favorite sushi place to go to, they have a great discount menu you can order off of after you spend 10 per person, and their staff is wonderful.

I am giving this place 4 stars for food taste, i enjoy local sushi and for a place close by i would say it's greatFor delivery they are super busy as we are all lazy to get out of the house so the delivery time takes long.If you want faster delivery, order 1hour ahead min, however the food does arrive hot

If you want cheap generic Japanese food this is the place to get it. The food was bland and nasty. The gyoza was soggy and tasteless the California and rainbow roll were just plain nasty. The osyters didn't taste fresh. The salad dressing was very sour. And how can you not put shrimp tempura in a tempura???? Just plain crazy. The service was so so had to flag down the waitress to order. This was a first and last time wouldn't be going back.

tasty and convenient!first off they deliver. its pretty perfect when you get home late from work and don't want to order pizza again. I've had a slight mix up in an online order and luckily I did because they didn't get the order so I would call. but other than that, food shows up tasty and quickly. Also, dine in is nice. Small and not tip top shape but friendly and hits the spot. Small parking lot but swoop one by the laundry room and you should be fine!Hope this helps. Sushi-8 is that good good.

Excellent no-frills, neighborhood sushi joint. Great dine-in service, complete with staff members who have worked there for awhile, so they remember us when we come back. Delivery is generally quick. They also have a great "cash only" special if you dine in. Probably not the place to impress your first date, but it's a solid place to bring the family or meet up with friends.

Been here a few times and each time has been pleasurable. The staff is nice and attentive, at least when I've gone. The food is good and decently priced. Happy hour prices are unbeatable and they don't skimp on the food during happy hour. They have a special priced menu (cash only, which I thought was for happy hour on one of my first visits but got it yesterday in the middle of the day) with $2 & $3 rolls, sake and beer. Had the tuna poki yesterday and it was delish. It had a little more spice to it than what I was expecting but it was yum.Parking can be a hassle. It's in a small plaza off skyline Blvd with no real street parking on the side since its residential.

I've been to 8 Sushi several times and it was always okay. This is a place I would go for a quick and cheap bite. I decided to order take out the other day and I was soooo disappointed with the quality of food they provided. 1 salad we received had no dressing with brown lettuce and the other was oversaturated with dressing. That wasn't even the bad part. Both orders of teriyaki chicken was so crunchy and chewy that it wasn't edible. We had to throw it out and the tonkatsu was over battered and very little meat. This will never be my go to place again. There are so much competition around, you would like they would put a little more effort and quality into their food.

This place had very poor service. It took them ONE HOUR to deliver the food. Called in twice to check on my order and said it would be ready in 10 minutes each time I called. The lion king roll had no cream cheese. And the udon soup had no mushrooms. Terrible experience. Not accurate with orders. Would not recommend this place at all.

I'm not much of a sushi snob, so when I heard about this place selling $2 California rolls I was all for it.I had the Lion King, Dragon, and California rolls and they were pretty good for the price ($17.) Better than Kitaro/Kiki's in the city. I don't eat raw fish so I can't say what the quality of their sashimi is. The staff was very friendly and attentive. It seems like they have a lot of regulars that come in for pickup because they addressed several people that came in for their food by their names. I will probably come here again if I was ever craving cheap sushi.-1 star for the humongous house fly that kept buzzing around our table until we had to kill it ourselves-1 star because it didn't seem like they planned things too well - their tables were tiny but the plates were huge+1 star for their 50% off deal

My favorites are the lion king roll, dynamite roll and eclipse roll. They're always accommodating when I request extra ginger and spicy mayo :) oh yea and the best part is it's cheap!

3.5 star, but I will round it to up 4. I'm not a big fans of rolls but their rolls are up to standard, and the price from the special cash only menu is unbeatable. I love Nigiri but there is no special. Salmon Sashimi is something you can't miss. $4 for 4 pieces.Fresh Oyster is another appetizer I am addicted to. $1 each, what more can I say... this is Silicon Valley.Soup base in the House Ramen has too much pepper added. I won't order Ramen again here. Katsu donburi with too little sauce. Rice is dry, but this bowl is really big!Service is excellent!!! They serve food pretty quick. I can tell they're very happy with their job, and so they're so happy to serve!!

I had a late lunch with the bf and he doesn't really like Japanese food, but obliged to take me here because I was craving it.We walked in and it wasn't that busy. There were only 2 tables that were occupied aside from ours. The bf ordered a bento w/ chicken teriyaki, gyoza, and California rolls. I had a bento w/ shrimp tempura, chicken katsu, and California rolls. Then I also ordered the Lion King roll.We noshed on edamame while we waited for our food. Our miso soup and salad came first. The miso soup was pretty good. The salad was decent. Then my Lion King roll came, followed by our bento boxes.I liked the shrimp tempura. The chicken katsu was good as well. It wasn't fatty and they gave you enough sauce to go with it. The California rolls seemed dry, but the bf liked them. He also had some of my chicken katsu and enjoyed it. He said his chicken teriyaki was alright. The Lion King roll was decent except I felt like the salmon they used was fatty and it wasn't warm enough. The service could have been better. The waitress forgot to bring me water when I asked for it when I ordered. So, I just ended up drinking tea. She also gave us the incorrect change when we paid our bill. But, besides that, we had an ok experience.

I think this place is workin their way up the ranks! The food is absolutely amazing, and with the special priced items, gets you satisfied with great quality at a low cost! Recommended sushi is the Spicy Sake roll and the Dynamite roll! With friends and family, you won't regret their quality and quantity of food. They will have you walking out with a smile on your face and a satisfied stomach.

BROWN RICE SUSHI!I like that option so much! Yea yea it's not authentic Japanese food, but dude... we're not in Japan. Can you honestly say legitimately that supposed Japanese food restaurants elsewhere are authentic? Umm no.I can't eat seafood, but my dinner dates and company always enjoy what they get. From the sashimi to the rolls. We get super full from all the food. They do get excited for the discounted cash menu and think its worth it. I personally like the Swamp Roll.Service is respectful and attentive. Place looks much better than years ago.Yay! I'm a fan.

My wife and I wanted to check out this restaurant after a hearty lunch in Pacifica by the ocean. This place was called Nippon before changing ownership approximately 3 years ago to its present name 8 Sushi. We decided to give it a try, so we ordered a take-out order. We tried a new item, Futo Maki roll, and when we got it, it was so light. When we opened the styrofoam lid, we was really surprised how loosely pack the rice and ingredients look. That's $6plus for 6 pieces ( that's more than a dollar each for a vegetable roll) The rice didn't taste right, we ate enough sushi to know what it should taste like. We were thinking of bringing our family there for dinner, but after this experience, its not going to happen.

I have been here several times and I've always left deliciously satisfied. Seriously, the food is good here. The other day, I had a chicken soba soup. The broth is among the best I've ever had. It was packed with chicken and vegetables for an exciting dish. It really warmed me up well on that cold and windy day.The ambience is casual and comfortable. Our waitress was super nice and considerate! She always appeared smiling with a warm attitude. I think it rubbed off on me :) Keep it up!

I order soooo much take-out from this place. They must know me as the 'togo dude'. I always call in, even if I literally live 1 minute away. I am tempted to use their delivery option, but the delivery guy will probably think i'm a lazy bum when he finds out I'm down the street.Anyways, great place to grab a quick Japanese lunch or dinner. Don't expect the best food, but it's tasty enough.

Why is this place only 3 stars?? I guess it's not "authentic" sushi, but it's still good and cheap!! I would give it 3.5 stars for food, but I'll bump it to 4 stars because of the friendly service. I came here for happy hour with a couple of friends. They have a special menu, which includes beer, oysters, sashimi and different sushi rolls to choose from, which are all about 50% off their regular price (which is pretty cheap to begin with!). Our waitress served us acknowledged us and served us tea right away. They were very attentive. We ordered 2 large Sapporos to share (only $3 each!) and I ordered the rainbow roll ($5) and 4 pieces of salmon sashimi ($4). I'm always a little reluctant eating raw fish from a 3 star sushi restaurant, but theirs was really fresh. I would definitely come back!

solid 3 stars, as the average currently suggests. you just don't expect much from a cheap sushi place. other than that it's OK. Food isn't great but not terrible either. Sake was good to OK. Because of how inexpensive their rolls are, just get one or two of each of what you like for starters and then work from there. In fact, I'll probably come back here, if I'm real hungry and feel like sushi at the same time, as this won't make you broke for sure.
